Fabrice Casciani is a project manager in the field of sustainable cities. He has been working for the French National Electricity Grid Operator for Distribution (ERDF) during 7 years before joining the European Institute For Energy Research (EIFER), a German-French research center dedicated to urban systems and energy planning, jointly managed by EDF and Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT).
He is experienced in the fields of energy efficiency in the context of areas with vulnerable electrical systems, and more particularly in French islands (La Réunion, Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Corsica).
Since 2011 he has been developing a systemic approach of urban territories for world class cities, in a multidisciplinary team. Methodology and tools developed aim at supporting strategic planning decisions for a sustainable future. Today this methodology is being tested in several cities, like for instance Singapore and Berlin.
